Fresh Start Expungement Program
The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Law Library, in conjunction with Louisville Metro Council has launched a program designed to assist with the legal representation of indigent Jefferson County residents in seeking expungement of eligible old criminal cases.
All Jefferson County residents who believe they may be eligible to expunge old criminal cases are invited to come to the law library during regular business hours, to fill out an application for eligibility. Program attorneys will review all applications and let applicants know if they have been accepted as a client. Applications will be accepted until the available funding is exhausted.
This program is supported by Neighborhood Development Funds provided by the Louisville Metro Council.
If you are interested in applying for expungement through the Fresh Start Program please print off and fill out the Confidential Client Questionnaire and the Affidavit of Defendant to file In Forma Pauperis (financial assessment forms). Bring these forms to the Jefferson County Public Law Library anytime between 8:30-4:30, Monday-Friday. A staff member will notarize your affidavit at that time. Your application will then be passed on to one of the contract attorneys who will determine and notify you of your eligibility.
