Every year the Friends of the Jefferson County Public Law Library present a Law Day in the Park!  Law Day is traditionally May 1st of every year.  Given the date’s proximity to the Kentucky Derby and all of the festivities that precede it, the date of our Law Day celebration varies.

Law Day in the Park 2020 will be held on Tuesday, May 5th in Jefferson Square Park.  There will be speakers, food trucks and information booths.

This event is free and open to all!  We hope that you will join us!  For more information please call JCPLL at 502-574-5943

Give for Good Louisville

The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Law Library participate in the Community Foundation’s Give for Good Louisville, biggest day of online giving.

Law Library staff and patrons gather at the law library for a big party each year in mid September.  Everyone together helps to make this our biggest fundraiser of the year.

Give for Good Louisville will return in 2020 on Thursday, September 17th!  We hope you will join us then!

Fresh Start Expungement Program

The Friends of the Jefferson County Public Law Library run a service called the Fresh Start Expungement Program.  In 2019, the Kentucky Bar Foundation awarded the Friends group $10,000 to assist in the expungement of criminal records for local community members.

Criminal record expungement gives citizens a second chance, increasing opportunity for employment and housing and benefiting the community as a whole.

Application for the Fresh Start Expungement Program is currently closed.  You may add your name to a waiting list by calling 502-574-5943.
